Overview

Not all Japanese travel packages are the same. Some are fixed group departures where you move with a crowd on a preset schedule. Others are built around you - your travel dates, your pace, the kind of experiences that actually matter to you. Ours are the second kind.

This 6 Nights / 7 Days package covers Tokyo and Osaka, with stops in Kyoto, Hakone, and Nara along the way. It works for first-time visitors who want a clear route through Japan's most iconic destinations, and it works just as well for people who have a specific list of places they want to see. The itinerary is a framework, not a fixed script. We adjust it to fit.

Why Choose TravelOcat?

Most travel packages try to squeeze as many places as possible into the fewest possible days. We don't. Here is how we think about it:

No group departures. You travel on your own schedule with your own group, or solo. No waiting for a bus of 30 people. No compromising on pace.

Hotels chosen for location, not just rate. Staying in central Tokyo matters. A hotel in a cheaper outer ward saves money, but costs you an hour each way every time you want to go somewhere. We factor location into every accommodation recommendation.

A route that flows. Tokyo to Hakone to Kyoto to Osaka — this direction makes geographic and logistical sense. We don't route people back and forth unnecessarily. The Shinkansen goes one way down the corridor, and the itinerary follows it.

Practical briefing before you go. Which train pass to buy? Which experiences need booking? What to carry in cash and how much. Which neighbourhoods are best on foot? These are the details that make a difference on the ground, and we cover all of them before departure.

Frequently Asked Questions

1) Can this Japan travel package be extended?
Easily. Common additions include Hiroshima and Miyajima Island (one or two extra nights), a Ryokan stay in Hakone instead of a day trip, or Hokkaido if you are travelling in winter or want a nature-heavy add-on. We build extensions into the quote during the planning call.

Is the itinerary locked in once I book?
No. What you see above is a working structure. We finalise every detail — hotels, timings, inclusions, day order — in the planning consultation before any booking is confirmed.

What kind of hotels does the package include?
We offer three tiers: clean, well-located 3-star business hotels; 4-star comfort hotels with more amenities; and boutique or premium properties for travellers who want a step up. Traditional Ryokans can be added on specific nights — most commonly in Hakone or Kyoto.

How far in advance should I book?
For cherry blossom season — late March and early April — book four months out minimum. Hotels in Kyoto especially fill fast during that window. For other periods, two to three months is generally comfortable.
